How it works

From install to trustworthy data, step by step.

You connect your store and approve the changes. CookieTrack runs the servers, prepares GTM and checks every event and order from then on.

The data path

Two doors for every sale, one place to check them.

Visitors' actions come from the browser, real orders come from your store's server. CookieTrack sends the first to GA4 through your own domain and compares it with the second.

1. The browser door

The pixel captures page views, products, cart, checkout and purchase, and sends them to GTM. From there they go to your server container, on your domain, and on to GA4.

2. The server door

Shopify webhooks or the WooCommerce plugin report every order created, paid, updated, cancelled or refunded — the sales that really happened.

3. The check

A copy of each event, without personal data, feeds Data Quality, reconciliation, the Health Score and alerts. That's how CookieTrack knows when something is missing.

Setup

Seven steps. Most of them are ours.

The wizard in CookieTrack shows each step with its real status, so you always know what is done, what is waiting and why.

YouCookieTrack
  1. You

Create your account and add a store

Pick Shopify or WooCommerce and give the store a name and domain. CookieTrack creates an isolated space for it, with its own keys.

  2. You

    Connect the store

Shopify: install the CookieTrack app. WooCommerce: install the plugin and paste the connection key. Orders start syncing through webhooks.

  3. You

    Connect Google

Sign in with Google and pick your GTM container and GA4 property. CookieTrack only asks for the permissions it needs — never permission to publish.

  4. CookieTrack

    Server-side goes live

CookieTrack starts an official Google tagging server for you, with HTTPS, on a ready-made CookieTrack domain or on your own subdomain with a single CNAME record.

  5. You

    Review and publish GTM

CookieTrack prepares tags, triggers and variables in your Default Workspace. You read the diff, test in Preview mode and publish.

  6. You

    Turn on the pixel

Shopify: paste the generated Custom Pixel in Customer events. WooCommerce: the plugin already handles the dataLayer and Consent Mode.

  7. CookieTrack

    We keep checking

Events, Data Quality, reconciliation, Health Score and alerts start filling in. When something needs attention, CookieTrack tells you what and why.

Who does what

You keep the decisions. We keep the servers.

You

  • Connect the store and your Google account
  • Review and publish every change in GTM
  • Optionally, add one DNS record for your own subdomain
  • Act on the alerts that matter

CookieTrack

  • Run the GTM Server-Side container, HTTPS and certificates
  • Prepare tags, triggers and variables from a tested blueprint
  • Monitor uptime, latency and errors around the clock
  • Check data quality and reconcile orders every few hours
Golden rule

CookieTrack never publishes anything in your GTM.

Every change lands in your Default Workspace as a draft you can read line by line. Publishing is always a human decision — yours or your specialist's.

  • Google permissions to read and edit — never to publish
  • Tags that aren't ours are left exactly as they are
  • Revoke Google access at any time
